All currency notes have a fingerprint - the serial number. What makes the iCVn authentication system unique is that, in contrast to all existing currency validation systems, it has the ability to read this fingerprint, electronically “tag” the serial number with valuable tracing information and compare it to the data available in our proprietary databases.

The patented iCVn system employs state of the art Reading and Authentication Devices (RADs) that connect through a global network to servers containing proprietary databases used for currency note authentication and tracing.

Currency Authentication
Every valid note has its own unique serial number. Duplicate valid serial numbers indicate suspected counterfeit. Our system uses the currency note's unique serial number to detect all types of counterfeit bills. The serial number is compared to our databases to determine if it falls in the range that is valid for its denomination and is checked for duplication. Each number can also be compared to lists of known counterfeit serial numbers and numbers that have officially been removed from circulation. Statistical information unique to each banknote can also be accessed through our databases.

Currency Tracing
The iCVn system also provides transaction history information for individual currency notes, enabling the authorities to track the path of any suspect bill or, by use of specially designed software applications, obtain a variety of statistical information. Currency tracking is performed within and among each customer system allowing for valuable information sharing among agencies.

RADs

All RADs consist of a high speed currency counter and computer with Optical Character Recognition ( OCR) to capture and digitize the note's serial number. The digitized information is electronically tagged with customer defined transaction related data and transmitted to a local network node. iCVn RADs have been adapted to authenticate and track multiple currencies including the U.S. Dollar, Euro, Mexican Peso, British Pound and others.

Nodes
Customer RADs, can either be connected to a local server or directly to the iCVn Master Server(s).

Master Server
A master server containing the iCVn tracking and validation databases can be accessed by government agencies with appropriate accreditation.
